Proposition 10

On November 1998, California voters passed the California Children and Families Act of 1998. The act levies a tax on cigarettes and other tobacco products with the intent to provide funding for early childhood development programs, in addition to establishing a State Commission and local County Commissions for this purpose.

Request for Proposals

Final Award Announcement: During the June 2nd, 2022 Regular Meeting of First 5 Imperial, Commissioners moved to approve final awards of RFPs selected for fundinRFPAward2223g for 7 applicants that submitted proposals through the First 5 Imperial Request for Proposal (RFP) General Grant Application for the 2022-2025 funding cycle. All applications submitted for the 2022-2025 funding cycle were reviewed and scored by an independent evaluation team and First 5 Imperial Commissioners worked to issue a preliminary Notice of Intent to Make an Award for applicants that may be selected for funding beginning July 1, 2022. During the meeting Commissioners issued the final award announcement for these applicants.

Commissioners selected 7 General RFP Projects from agencies interested in applying for Proposition 10 funds that would be used to provide services to children 0-5 years of age, their families and/or caregivers. These services include programs that focus on early care and education, strengthening families and family support, and child health. The total allocation for Projects that were selected for this funding cycle is $1,224,719.00 for Fiscal Year 2022-2023 (year one of the three-year funding cycle).
