Proposition 10

On November 1998, California voters passed the California Children and Families Act of 1998. The act levies a tax on cigarettes and other tobacco products with the intent to provide funding for early childhood development programs, in addition to establishing a State Commission and local County Commissions for this purpose.

Request for Proposals

Final Award Announcement: During the Regular Meeting June 8th, 2017, First 5 Imperial Commissioners moved to approve final awards for RFPs selected for funding to 11 applicants applicants that submitted proposals through gh its for Request for Proposal (RFP) General Grant for the 2017-2019 funding cycle. All applicFAAations submitted for the 2017-2019 funding cycle were reviewed and Commissioners worked to issue a preliminary Notice of Intent to Make an Award for applicants that may be selected for funding for Fiscal Years 2017-2018 and 2018-2019. During the meeting Commissioners issued the final award announcement for these applicants.

Commissioners selected 11 Projects from agencies interested in applying for Proposition 10 funds that would be used to provide services to children 0-5 years of age, their families and/or caregivers. These services include programs that focus on early care and education, strengthening families and family support, and child health. The total allocation for the Projects that were selected for this funding cycle is $1,500,660.00 for Fiscal Year 2017-2018 (year one of the two-year funding cycle).
