Proposition 10

On November 1998, California voters passed the California Children and Families Act of 1998. The act levies a tax on cigarettes and other tobacco products with the intent to provide funding for early childhood development programs, in addition to establishing a State Commission and local County Commissions for this purpose.

Project Highlights

The Imperial County Children and Families First Commission actively funds local projects through Proposition 10 revenues. These Projects have lasting impacts on children and families. A number of Projects work to offer a diverse set of activities and promote services through events are funded on a yearly basis, from early care and education services to home visitation programs, from prenatal and breastfeeding support to nutrition and asthma education activities, from kindergarten transition programs to family resource fairs.
